Alliance Agri Turf

Allianice Agricutural Turf

February 23, 2014

Olympian efforts prevailed for the first ever Alliance Agri-Turf Challenge held during the award winning SnowFest Family Day, Monday February 17th Caledon Fairgrounds in Caledon Village.

Agricultural fair ambassadors from Acton, Albion/Bolton, Orangeville, Grand Valley, Erin, Shelburne, Schomberg and host fair Caledon, competed in a timed obstacle race which tested speed, agility and team work, over obstacles which reflected not just their agri-roots but also special recognition for the important role of fire stations in their community.

Each ambassador competed with firefighting clothing and faced obstacles similar to those in the feature event: the Fire Fighters Challenge.

Coveted podium positions were hard fought and competitively earned with Acton Fall Fair Ambassadors Jordan Lenz and Rebecca Nelles winning gold, Schomberg Fair Ambassadors Morgan Baker and Jeremy Eeks winning silver and Erin Fall Fair Ambassadors Brittany Heller and Julie Gagnon bringing home the bronze medal.

Considered a tremendous success by any event yardstick, the Caledon Agricultural Society is already planning a re-match at the 154th Caledon Fair, June 6 to 8th.
